New Desperados, New Tier, New Goals!

Howdy, Desperados. We've broken through that major $1300 goal, so now there are six new options for Desperado character classes thundering into view. I couldn't be prouder of you magnificent sons of guns.

There's a new stretch goal on the horizon, a new tier for FULL COLOR character art, and some great progress being made on the #HellBentDesperados social goal. Read on!

New Character Classes

Thanks to you clearing the $1300 goal, we're adding six new character classes as a PDF expansion. Those classes will be (drumroll):

Gambler (speciality: million-to-one odds)

Revivalist (speciality: sermonizing)

Sawbones (speciality: anatomy)

Cattle Rustler (speciality: stampedes)

Blind Drifter (speciality: scavenging)

Runaway Bride (specialty: promises)

New Stretch Goal at $1500—Expanded Play Example

When we hit $1500, we'll add a PDF expansion with an extended example drawn from actual gameplay. What happens when Widow Birdie Tanner, Sharpshooter Bob "Bullseye" McGee, Fiddler Herbishal "Dandylion" Crenshaw, and Tomboy Lucille "Luce" Cain storm the train to Hell, some seeking vengeance, some seeking redemption? And what is going through a gamemaster's head as the tale unfolds? Discover their story and gain insight into gameplay by unlocking this goal!

New Tier at $150—Character Portraits in Color

You've been gobbling up the $100 Character Portrait tier pledge levels! As of this writing, there's only one left. Since we've clearly got some big city high-rollers among us, we're adding one more tier option: at $150, you get the PDF, the Zine, free shipping, AND a character portrait by Alexi IN COLOR! There's only 5 slots at this tier. $100 backers, you can change your pledge to this tier if the prospect of color is enticing to you. Other folks should also feel free to join the fun if they'd like to see their Weird Western character drawn in Stygian black ink and then daubed with all the colors of the sunset!

Well, I'll be hornswoggled, Desperados. You've cleared another stretch goal, and so the talented Linda Codega will be contributing an Observation Car to the train to Hell. What damnable sights and metaphysical panoramas will such a car look out upon? The only way to find out is to climb aboard this ever-hastening train...

I'm excited to announce the next two stretch goals. One is another milestone stretch goal at $1300 that adds something huge to the game: six brand new classes of Desperados! That would bring the overall number of Desperado class options up to an even dozen, ensuring you'll never need to ride with the same Hell-bent crew twice. 

And speaking of Hell-bent Desperados, our second stretch goal is a social goal. If 25 people help us round up a posse of #HellBentDesperados on Twitter, we'll add a sheet of stickers to every physical zine copy of the game!

$1300— SIX(!) New Character Classes

When we hit lucky $1300, we'll add a PDF expansion with SIX new Desperado character classes, doubling the options available! In the base game you can be a Sharpshooter, Snake-handler, Renegade Fury, Tomboy, Fiddler, or Homesteader Widow. With this expansion, you'll gain new possibilities like Gambler, Sawbones, or Runaway Bride!

If we get 25 people on Twitter to create and share their own #HellBentDesperados, we'll add a sticker sheet with Desperado stickers to every print copy of the zine. See this Twitter thread for more information!

First Stretch Goals(!) in the Dust!

You've done it, Desperados. Our first stretch goal, at $666, is disappearing in our locomotive's wake. Looking real purdy back there, too. You've unlocked an expanded loot table of three dozen trinkets and trifles aboard the train to Hell! Here's a sneak peak:

1. A wide-brimmed black hat that cloaks the wearer in shadow.
   
2. A white Stetson that gives the wearer an aura of righteous authority.
   
3. A silk handkerchief with numbers written on it—could they be a safe combination?
   
4. A slice of the darkest, moistest chocolate cake imaginable.
   
5. A half-eaten pomegranate that, upon close inspection, is full of rubies.
   
6. A tattered Bible with a bullet hole clean through it.
   

But that's not all! You also unlocked our next stretch goal, at $800! That means guest author Jesse Ross (Trophy, Girl Underground) and I will each be contributing a new railway car to the train to Hell. Jesse will be writing the Post Office Car.

It's hard to keep up while you're barreling full steam ahead into the underworld... but I do have a next stretch goal to announce:

$1000—Two more Train Cars, One by Linda Codega!

When we hit $1000 we'll add a digital reward for all backers: another new pair of railway cars for the train to Hell. One will be from a guest author: Linda Codega, creator of great zines like The Fan Favorite Masks zine, will be bringing us the Hell-train's Observation Car!

Yeehaw! Fully Funded in Under 3 Hours!

We did it, pardners! The Great Soul Train Robbery has fully funded in under three hours. Thanks and congratulations to all backers and fans. This train is getting underway (to the infernal city of Dis).

We can't rest on our laurels, however. With such an enthusiastic reception, it's time to start laying down track for stretch goals. When we hit lucky number $666, we'll add an expanded loot table to the game: three dozen trinkets and trifles aboard the train to Hell.

So spread the word and help keep this train a-coming. There's room for many a more...
